AL FAIRBANKS / BASS

Originally from Western NY, Al starting playing bass in the mid 70's on a dare from some friends in a band that just lost their original bassist. After a few close calls with garage bands and being with The Tuners through their formative years, Al landed full time with Viper – a heavy rock band that recorded and played throughout Western NY doing original material as well as covers (from bands including Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Zeppelin, VH, AC/DC, The Hunt, Max Webster & Pat Travers). Even with tour openings for Blackfoot and Krokus, and plans to relocate to Europe, the band sadly broke up from dysfunction and drama.

Al then worked in a hotel dance band until he couldn’t take playing any more Bee Gees or Donna Summer tunes. He then signed on for a few years in a regionally successful commercial rock band called Lace, followed by jamming around with different musicians and then settling in with a vintage rock & blues band. Al moved to the Columbus area in 1995 and took time off from playing to focus on family. Over the past few years, he has done fill-in work for CT4 - a popular local band - which fueled his desire to get back to his head-banging roots with No Regrets.
